The story of the destruction of the Twin Towers .

Today is the 11th of September (Nine-Eleven). On this day in 2001, the United States World Trade Center or the Twin Towers were destroyed in a suicide bombing. The whole world has changed completely before anyone knew who was involved in the attack.

Two of the four planes targeted the north and south towers of the World Trade Center in New York. Another struck the Pentagon, just outside Washington, and a fourth crashed into a Pennsylvania field.

The attack killed 2,998 people, including six Bangladeshi Sohos. More than 400 of them were police and firefighters. It was the worst day in history for U.S. firefighters. 343 people died in one day. Tens of thousands of people were injured, many in critical condition.

The morning of September 11, 2001. The weather was nice that day. People were slowly moving towards the workplace. At 8:45 a.m., an American Airlines Boeing 8 plane carrying about 20,000 gallons of jet fuel crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center. It was a 110-story building on the 70th floor of which the plane crashed. Hundreds of people died in an instant. Many people are trapped on the upper floors. This building and the other building of the Twin Towers began to evacuate people from the South Tower. Television channels started broadcasting live.

At first it was thought to be a drunken act. But 17 minutes later, another United Airlines Boeing 8 crashed into the 70th floor of the South Tower. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a crowd of 2,000 people. That's when it was first understood that the attack on the United States had begun.

At 9:45 a.m., another American Airlines Boeing 757 crashed just west of the Pentagon, the Pentagon's headquarters, as scores of people were staring at the Twin Towers. Here, too, the cause of the disaster was jet fuel. A total of 125 Pentagon military and civilian personnel were killed, along with all 74 people on board.

The South Tower of the World Trade Center collapsed less than 15 minutes after the attack, right at the center of the U.S. military. Clouds of dust and smoke are formed there. More than a dozen nearby installations were destroyed or severely damaged.

The two towers of the World Trade Center were built of strong steel, with wind speeds of up to 200 miles per hour, enough to withstand even large-scale fires. But this steel structure could not handle the heat caused by jet fuel. The other tower also collapsed at 10:30 in the morning. Rescuers were trying to rescue people from the upper floors of the building. Many rescuers died.

At the end of the investigation, it was said that there was no defect in the design of the building. The incidence of such attacks is unprecedented. Hundreds of millions of dollars have to be spent to vacate the space. The structure of the building was ‘tube in tube’ method. To increase the space on each floor, more columns are provided on the outside. And more beams are given on the floors. After the plane hit, the upper part of the building collapsed on the site of the explosion, melting the steel in the scorching heat. Unable to withstand the pressure, the two buildings collapsed.

The attack caused great concern in the United States. Considering the security risks, the then President Jr. Bush was moved from one place to another throughout the day. He returned to the White House at 7 p.m. He gave a speech to the people at nine o'clock at night. "Terrorists have shaken the foundations of our tallest buildings, but they have not shaken the foundations of the United States," he said. These actions could melt the steel, but not the steel that the United States has. " "There is no difference between the United States and those who indulge in terrorism," he said. The United States, in its language, launched a global war on terror.

And today is the 19th year of that terrible day. But still there was no solution for that day. A memorial has been set up at Ground Zero in memory of those who died. Every year the relatives of the deceased gather there to pay their respects.
